Inigo Jones was one of the first places I visited after moving to the area over twenty years ago, I’m still as fascinated with slate now as I was back then. I’ve been working for Inigo Jones for over 10 years and I love my job! I’m very much a people’s person and so working as the Shop Manager really suits me. I make sure that all customers are welcomed, especially those on four legs! Living and working in the middle of the ‘stuff’ (slate) you can’t but help learn so much about it! It amazes me still that there have been 78 shops (!) on Hyfrydle Road in Talysarn. People used to sell things from their front rooms, - the volume of people working in the quarry must have been a lot! A bustling metropolis – I would have loved to had seen it back then!
